The unemployment rate in Greece stood at 11% in February 2024, according to the official data released by the Hellenic Statistics Authority (EL.STAT). The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in February 2024 amounted to 11.0% compared to the downwards revised 11.2% in February 2023 and to the upwards revised 10.6% in January 2024.
The number of employed persons amounted to 4,228,417 persons, increased by 76,736 persons as compared with February 2023 (1.8%) and decreased by 38,712 persons compared with January 2024 (-0.9%). The number of unemployed persons amounted to 524,428, decreased by 283 persons as compared with February 2023 (-0.1%) and increased by 18,733 persons compared with January 2024 (3.7%).
The number of persons outside the labour force, i.e., persons under the age of 75, that neither work nor look for a job, amounted to 3,034,624, decreased by 97,400 persons as compared with February 2023 (-3.1%) and increased by 17,617 persons compared with January 2024 (0.6%).
