Inflation rose to 3.2% in March - Food inflation up 5.3%
Inflation was at 3.2% in Greece in March, according to ELSTAT data.

Inflation was 3.2% in March, up from 2.9% in February. The ELSTAT data confirm the rising inflation picture shown by Eurostat statistics, which showed that harmonised inflation in Greece rose to 3.4% in March, from 3.1% in February.

The ELSTAT data showed that inflation in the food category was 5.3%, with olive oil prices 67.2% higher than in March last year, fruit prices 12.7% more expensive and the mineral water/soft drinks/fruit juices category showing 11.4% price increases

According to the ELSTAT, the comparison of the General Consumer Price Index for March 2024 with the corresponding index for March 2023 revealed an increase of 3.2% as opposed to an increase of 4.6% in the corresponding comparison of the year 2023 with 2022.

The General Consumer Price Index for the month of March 2024 compared to February 2024 showed an increase of 1.5%, compared to an increase of 1.2% in the corresponding comparison of the previous year.

The average CPI for the twelve months of April 2023 to March 2024, compared to the corresponding CPI for the twelve months of April 2022 to March 2023, showed an increase of 2.8%, compared to an increase of 9.2% in the corresponding comparison of the twelve months of April 2022 to March 2023 with the twelve months of April 2021 to March 2022.
