Compliance with current national and EU legislation will be verified for manufacturers of a variety of industrial products, such as keyboards, computer "mice," shoes and leather goods made of "eco-friendly" leather, and swimwear and bath towels, mainly for children.
In order to achieve this, the General Directorate of the General State Chemistry of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) and the General Directorate of Industrial Infrastructure and Business Environment of the General Secretariat of Industry of the Ministry of Development have signed a cooperation protocol.
A post on the ministry's website states that the cooperation protocol's goal is to look into whether specific industrial product types comply with relevant national and EU laws. As part of this cooperation, 178 samples will be inspected over the course of two years, with 85 samples being checked in the first year and 93 samples in the second.
The selection of the categories of industrial products to be controlled is based on a risk assessment and aims at more effective market surveillance through targeted controls in the field of safety and conformity of industrial products.
