The Independent Authority for Public Revenue caught 27 companies in the net that are involved in cases and schemes of issuing and receiving fictitious invoices.

These are businesses, services, wholesale, and retail, which issue documents with virtual transactions, which are part of the fraud chain.

The recipient businesses thus incur inflated costs, thereby reducing their profitability and avoiding the payment of income tax and VAT.

The 27 cases concern a net value of tax documents issued and/or received of more than €218 million, while the proportionate VAT exceeds €48 million.
