The Independent Authority for Public Revenues (AADE) has clamped down on over 52 businesses that conduct online sales but fail to declare the revenue generated by those sales because they fail to provide pertinent invoices or receipts.

In the first half of 2024, there were targeted audits and thorough cross-checks of myDATA data and data from courier companies before this.

As soon as the AADE system, based on data from the above three sources, identifies suspicious behaviour, the auditors simultaneously use data from the internet and from opening bank accounts.

These 52 companies had concealed more than €18.5 million in taxable assets.
