Unisystems is in a phase of development in the defense sector, with reports that it is close to announcing a contract, while at the same time the company's management expects synergies with larger companies in order to undertake new projects. The selection of Michalis Tsamaz, who is on the boards of both Unisystems and Intracom Defense, creates the basis for synergies.

The defense sector is actively integrating IT into its operations. This is because now all defense systems go through technology and IT, as both drones and all defense applications are stepping on codes and, of course, telecommunications.

DEVELOPMENT

One of the main reasons for Unisystems' entry into this market is the growth that lies ahead. Not only in Greece, due to the arms barrage under the shadow of the Turkish threat, but internationally. In Europe, defense spending is increasing against the backdrop of Putin's threats. The US is constantly developing its defense technology and armaments, while the Middle East is on fire, and as much as it seems that the situation has calmed down, defense armaments are dragging the dance.

"EUROPE HAS FALLEN BEHIND."

It will be recalled that recently Unisystems CEO, Yannis Loumakis, had stated that, "The EU will allocate very large funds to the defense sector as Europe has been left behind. The company needs to move very strongly in this direction. We are also looking at partnerships. It is an area that cannot be ignored. It is no longer a 'polluted industry,' defense. The EU's interest is now turning to defense systems, where it is already working on a €20 billion package, money that is to be directed to this area. This package will not only be for projects and investments in weapon systems but also in the technology behind them, which increases the interest, and Uni Systems does not want to miss this opportunity."
