A VLCC, owned by Dynacom Tankers Management, owned by George Prokopiou, has become the first vessel to load crude in Cameroon to feed Nigeria's huge Dangote refinery.
After unloading its cargo a few days ago, the Evgenia 1 is currently en route to Fujairah, located in the United Arab Emirates, near the Cape of Good Hope. The imports from Nigeria's first major refinery will create significant work for shipping companies with large tankers, and George Prokopiou appears to have gained strong access there already. With Dangote's crude imports expected to reach 464,000 barrels per day in January, the refinery is progressing towards its full capacity target of 650,000 barrels.
