More passengers used urban transport in Athens 2024, as ticket validations increased by 9% compared to 2023, while the OASA Group's revenues increased by 13.5%.

In fact, from September 2024 onwards, revenues showed an increasing increase, surpassing even pre-pandemic levels, despite reduced fare prices. Traffic on the airport's routes has also increased, contributing to 23% of the revenue growth.

CEO of OASA, George Spiliopoulos, stressed that "in 2024, travel on the OASA Group network increased significantly, contributing to a corresponding increase in revenues. This reflects the strengthening of passenger confidence in the transport services offered.".

EMV - TAP & PAY

The EMV-Tap & Pay application, available from April 2024, is being used at an increasing rate by passengers travelling on Express Airport bus services.

Since the pilot application, more than 90,000 users have used the service, and the average transaction rate is 9% of all transactions made on Express vehicles.

"We are adding new modern technology buses, expanding our network in cooperation with the local government, renovating METRO stations, and starting a complete modernization and procurement of new trains. The implementation of Tap & Pay in all the networks is another step in the evolutionary course of the public urban transport of Attica," said Mr. Spiliopoulos.

INTENSIFIED CONTROLS

Also, the number of controls and fines imposed shows an average monthly increase of 50% and 45%, respectively, compared to the previous year.

"Based on the strategic transport plan, we are moving with steady steps and targeted interventions towards the vision of making public transport the first choice for the movement of residents and visitors, making a decisive contribution to sustainable urban mobility with smart, green travel and rationalisation of traffic," explained Mr. Spiliopoulos.
