"Christmas Basket" will be in effect from December 13th to January 3rd, according to the Ministerial Decision signed today, Friday, December 8, 2023, by the Minister of Development, Kostas Skrekas.

The "Christmas Basket" is an extension of the "Household Basket" that is already in effect, as 6 new food categories are added for the Christmas table.

Specifically, the following products are included in the "Christmas Basket":

Turkey

Chocolate

Tsoureki (Greek sweet bread)

Vasilopita (New Year's cake, similar to tsoureki)

Lamb

Goat

The Minister of Development, Kostas Skrekas, stated: "With the 'Christmas Basket' starting on December 13th, Greek consumers can choose the necessary products for the festive period at affordable prices. We remain steadfast in our position: all Greek households should have access to quality products at the best possible prices for the festive table."

It is noted that the list of existing products in the "Household Basket" remains unchanged.

6 All-purpose flour

7 Legumes (lentils)

9 Legumes (chickpeas)

13 Fresh pork (packaged or not)

15 Fresh beef (packaged or not)

16 Fresh full-fat milk

17 Fresh low-fat milk

18 UHT full-fat milk

19 UHT low-fat milk

20 Evaporated milk

21 Yogurt from cow's milk without flavors

22 Yogurt from cow's milk without flavors, low-fat
