The construction of a new 171 MW solar park at the Western Macedonia Lignitic Centre in Kozani, starts the Intrakat Group on behalf of the PPC Group, which is dynamically developing the organic growth of its RES portfolio.
Specifically, the consortium of companies "Intrakat - Ameresco - RES INVEST PV 171 MW," in which Intrakat Group is the leader and holds a 45% stake, has signed a contract with Spartakos Energy (a 100% subsidiary of PPC Renewables) for the construction of a 171 MW photovoltaic project at the Western Macedonia Lignitic Center.
The project consists of three solar stations, with bifacial panels and a fixed support system, at the locations "Exochi 7" (80 MW), "Exochi 8" (75 MW), and "Kardia 1" (16 MW) of the municipalities of Eordia and Kozani.
The solar stations will be interconnected with the existing High Voltage Substations of the region after the completion of their construction. Within the framework of the project, the consortium will undertake the implementation study, licensing, construction, supply, installation, and commissioning of the 3 photovoltaic plants, thus taking advantage of the wide expertise of its partners in similar projects. The construction period of the project is 14 months.
The contract price of the project amounts to €43 million. The project is estimated to provide electricity to almost 70,000 households, while preventing the emission of around 68,000 metric tons of CO2 per year. This project is part of a larger group of projects with a total capacity of 1200 MWp, that have been installed or are under implementation in the Ptolemaida Region.
