What is really going on with the Aretsous marina in Kalamaria
The concession of the Kalamaria marina in eastern Thessaloniki is the subject of a heated dispute between the local government and the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (TAIPED). This is because, following the Municipality of Kalamaria, the Region of Central Macedonia opposes the entry of a private investor into the asset.

Increase in arrivals and overnight stays in May at tourist accommodation establishments
In May this year, arrivals and overnight stays amounted to 3,754,414 and 15,012,287 in the country's hotels, camping, and collective accommodation of short stays (rooms to let), an increase of 3.4% in arrivals and 4.6% in overnight stays compared to the corresponding month of 2023.

Greece's public debt at €356 billion
Per the quarterly Non-Financial Accounts of General Government by ELSTAT, public debt increased to €355.947 billion in the first quarter of this year from €355.732 billion in the corresponding quarter of 2023.

Current account deficit widened in the January-May quarter
Based on data released by the Bank of Greece on Monday, the current account deficit increased in May 2024 compared to the same month in 2023. This increase was primarily caused by the decline in the goods and primary income balances and, to a lesser extent, the secondary income balance. On the other hand, the services balance showed improvement.
